Parkside Community is an innovative community based project being developed by Chelmer Housing Partnership (CHP), its partners and the residents of North West Chelmsford.

The ground floor of the refurbished Parkside Court will be transformed into a Health and Wellbeing Centre with a Neighbourhood Centre avauilable at the current Melbourne Clinic. Co-ordinated services will be delivered from both venues for the benefit of the entire community.

The Health and Wellbeing Centre will provide all the existing services currently offered currently at Melbourne Clinic as well as additional space for other services and groups supporting and encouraging healthy living.

The ‘Community Hub’ will offer a community meeting space or mobile crèche facility, meeting rooms, information and advice, learning zone and IT suite and fully equipped training kitchen.

The project helps provide a focus for the work of the Chelmsford Local Strategic Partnership and aims to help improve access to services, improve residents’ quality of life, tackle disadvantage and discrimination, improve opportunities for life-long learning, improve access to and prospects for employment, support business growth and improve community well-being and community spirit.  

The project is supported by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) and the Essex Development and Regeneration Agency (ExDra) who have provided funding from the government’s Investing in Communities programme.
