Parkside Community is an innovative community based project being developed by Chelmer Housing Partnership (CHP), its partners and the residents of North West Chelmsford. 
The project forms an integral part of the regeneration of CHP’s Melbourne Court tower and garage court which will see the provision of new and refurbished homes for rent, shared ownership and outright sale together with the creation of a purpose built neighbourhood centre.
The neighbourhood centre or ‘community hub’ will comprise a learning zone, business/social enterprise start-up unit, community meeting room, neighbourhood office, community information/advocacy and advice point, community meeting space/café and will also provide space for a healthy living centre and community nursery.
The project helps provide a focus for the work of the Chelmsford Local Strategic Partnership and aims to help improve access to services, improve residents’ quality of life, tackle disadvantage and discrimination, improve opportunities for life-long learning, improve access to and prospects for employment, support business growth and improve community well-being and community spirit.
The project is supported by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) and the Essex Development and Regeneration Agency (ExDra) who have provided funding from the government’s Investing in Communities programme.
